Meet The Bremen Energy Team
Our Staff
Bremen Inc was established in 1995 by Bob and Mary Eipert.
We have active raters across Kentucky and Southern Indiana with a full staff ready to assist builders, developers and contractors!
Bob Eipert | Co-Owner
Bob started in the construction industry in 1987 in Cape Coral, Florida. He gained experience in a variety of areas, including kitchen cabinet design, manufacturing, and installation.
After a move to Carmel, Indiana, Bob and Mary founded Bremen Inc. and started remodeling kitchen and baths. Bremen, Inc. expanded into building high performance homes in 1998 after moving to Berea, KY.
Throughout his career, Bob has used the most up-to-date building science technology while maintaining focus on a commitment to energy efficiency and comfort. From 2007-2011, Bremen Inc. was committed to building 100% ENERGY STAR Certified Homes as an ENERGY STAR Partner.
Bob became a certified HERS Rater in 2008 and stopped building in 2012 to devote all his time to helping other builders produce more energy efficient homes.
Bob brings his experience and knowledge as a Rater, builder, and remodeling contractor to each job he inspects and tests.
Colin Purcell | Certified HERS Rater
Colin Purcell joined Bremen Energy Auditors in 2018. Colin grew up in Louisville where he lives with his wife and daughter. Colin graduated from the University of Georgia in 2007 with a degree in Business Administration and Management while being a captain on their national championship tennis team.
After graduation, Colin joined his father, Shawn Purcell’s energy rating business MetroFirst. Shawn Purcell was the first HERS Rater in the Louisville/Southern Indiana area. Bremen is proud to have his son as a part of our team.
Colin enjoys working with builders, homeowners, and construction industry professionals alike to help them navigate their best options for meeting and exceeding their local code requirements to creating better end product.
Wade Bradford | Document Specialist
Wade joined Bremen Energy Auditors at the start of 2023. Although he originally comes from Harlan County, he moved to Berea at an early age and has lived there ever since. Wade graduated from Berea College in 2022 with a degree in Foreign Languages.

Wade's primary roles include managing office documents, scheduling, and customer support. Recently, he has even began to work with our raters in the field, providing support when necessary.
In his free time, Wade enjoys playing billiards in Richmond, spending time with his two dogs, and trying new food.
Mary Eipert | Co-Owner
Mary brings a wide range of experience to our team as co-founder and owner. After graduating from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Mary started her career in advertising through yellow page and television advertising agencies. After living and working in Fort Myers, Florida, Indianapolis, Indiana and Dayton, Ohio, Mary moved back to her hometown of Berea, Kentucky with her husband Bob.
Together, they started building ENERGY STAR Certified and high-performance homes for several years. They founded Bremen Energy Auditors in 2008.
Mary is accomplished in the building science behind energy efficiency. Assisting and empowering builders in marketing the advantages of a well-built, energy efficient home to future homeowners is her passion.
John Eipert | Certified HERS Rater, Certified Energy Star Rater for Single-Family and Multi-Family Homes, CPA
John Eipert was raised in the family construction business and began performing energy efficiency improvements in high school. While attending Transylvania University, John became a Certified HERS Rater and began managing contracts with local utility companies. He oversaw energy audits and efficiency improvements of numerous apartment complexes and hundreds of houses across Central Kentucky.
Following graduation, John became a Certified Public Accountant and began conducting audits of local governments and non-profits. In 2020, John rejoined Bremen Energy Auditors. John facilitates Bremen's ability to issue over $1,000,000 of tax credits and utility rebates every year. John oversees all aspects of Bremen’s operations and maintains an extensive system of internal quality control over completed HERS Ratings.
Abigail Eipert | Rater Field Inspector,
ACCA/RESNET HVAC Assessor for Energy Star, Level 1 Thermographer, Certified Energy Star Rater for Single-Family Homes
Growing up in the family business, Abby is just as at home on jobsites, real estate closings, crawl spaces and attics as she is in the office and working directly with builders or HVAC Contractors. Her dedication to customer satisfaction is exceptional. She always takes time to explain the science or testing process to anyone interested.

Abby is a full time RESNET Certified Rater Field Inspector, conducting Blower Door and Duct Blaster testing for HERS Ratings and Energy Code Compliance. She has also mastered air and duct sealing techniques. She brings incredible work ethic, drive and versatility to all she does with the Bremen team.

Abby is the first RFI in the state of KY to be Certified to perform HVAC Grading for ENERGY STAR Certified Homes. She is also Certified Level 1 Thermographer. Currently, Abby is also finalizing her paperwork to become a certified HERS Rater.
Robert Lee Mills IV | Rater Field Inspector,
ACCA/RESNET HVAC Assessor for Energy Star, Certified Energy Star Rater for Single-Family Homes
Lee joined the Bremen team in May of 2023, making him our newest member. Originally from Irvine, Kentucky, Lee graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences.
Lee works as one of our primary Rater Field Inspectors. Recently, he has even become certified to rate Energy Star Single-Family Homes. Certified in record timing, Lee is a quick learner and an integral part of the company.

Outside of work, Lee enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball, and taking care of his flock of chickens. We are very grateful to have him as a member of our company.
